I recently read an applause-worthy post that made me think of the sad truth that bravery--and kindness, for that matter--so often eludes most of us as we scurry about our lives, immersed in our respective bubbles. And it's not time-worn chivalry that I'm thinking of here. It seems like the mere thought of acting out of context to help others instills in us some level of fear or uncertainty, doubtful emotions that make us freeze when we know deep down that we should probably be doing something. Maybe bravery is situational or contextual, but what I do know is that being pushed out of our cushy comfort zone is sometimes entirely worth the try.
